Welcome back!

I really hope that you all had a wonderful summer break. I am excited for all of the exciting learning that we are going to experience this year and I hope that you are all ready for a fabulous first half term!

This term’s topic is all about Being Me in My World and we will be exploring our learning question
“How can we reach our true potential?” though all of our subjects.

Our class novel study is The Promise. In RHSE, we will be learning about the Zones of Regulation, how we can become resilient in our learning and our relationships. Our science lessons will focus on the changes that the human body experiences as it develops into old age and exploring the importance of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way bodies function. In Art, we we will be exploring how we can represent ourselves through art and developing our drawing techniques.

PE this half term will be dance and we will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so please ensure children have their indoor PE kit in school each week. This includes black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps. Please ensure your kit is named!

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home and record it in your child’s reading records. I cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads and see the children win prizes!
