Welcome to the Pine class page
Hello everyone! :)
I really hope that you all had a wonderful summer break. I am excited for all of the exciting learning that we are going to experience this year and I hope that you are all ready for a fabulous first half term!
This term’s topic is all about Being Me in My World and we will be exploring our learning question
“How can we inspire change?” though all of our subjects.
Our class novel study is Floodland. In RHSE, we will be learning about the Zones of Regulation, how we can become resilient in our learning and our relationships. Our science lessons will focus on the changes that the human body experiences as they develop into old age. In music, we will be learning how to control pulse and rhythm while singing, while in Art, we we will be exploring how we can represent ourselves through art by creating a personalised still life using different collage techniques.
PE this half term will be dance and we will be on Wednesdays and Fridays, so please ensure children have their indoor PE kit in school each week. This includes black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps. Please ensure your kit is named!
We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home and record it in your child’s reading records. I cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads and see the children win prizes!
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our webpage as we will upload photographs regularly to showcase the fabulous learning happening in class and our Stars of the Week.
If you have any questions or need to discuss anything at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch via our class email:
I am very much looking forward to the year ahead! :)
