Hornbeam

Welcome to the Hornbeam class page!

We hope you had a wonderful summer break and are ready for the many exciting learning adventures we have ahead of us this academic year. I am so excited to teach you all and get to know you over the coming weeks.

This term’s topic is all about Being Me in My World and we will be exploring our learning question
“Who is your hero?”

Our class novel study is the Krindlekrax by Philip Ridley. In RHSE, we will be learning about the Zones of Regulation, how we can become resilient in our learning and our relationships. Our science lessons will focus on investigating how our bodies work including our bones, muscles and digestive system. In music, we will be learning our to sing melodies accurately and we will be exploring how we can represent ourselves through art by creating self portraits.

PE this half term will be yoga and we will be Mondays and Fridays, so please ensure children have their indoor PE kit in school each week. This includes black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps. Please ensure your kit is named!

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!

Don’t forget to keep an eye on our webpage as we will upload photographs regularly to showcase the fabulous learning happening in class and our Stars of the Week.

Thank you, Mr Sawyer and the Hornbeam team.
