Welcome to Birch!

Welcome back to you all and a warm ‘Hello!’ to our new members of #TeamRB! It is wonderful to see you all! We hope that you have had a wonderful summer and are ready for the exciting learning we have in store for you this half-term.

We have missed you!

This term’s topic is all about Being Me in My World and we will be exploring our learning question
“What makes me unique?”

Our class novel study is Ruby’s Worry by Tom Percievel. In Art, we will be learning about how to create self portraits and experimenting with different mediums. Our science lessons will focus on looking at different body parts and how each of these link to the five senses. In Geography, we will be learning about our local area and how to create our own map of our school. In RHSE, we will be learning about the Zones of Regulation and how we can use resilience to help us build our character muscles and support us in our learning.

We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!

Please keep an eye on our class page for regular updates and as a window to our fantastic learning!

Our P.E lessons take place twice a week on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child has a full and named kit in school. Also, please ensure your child has a water bottle in school everyday.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, then please feel free to email the school office.
